UPDATE 27 March – Man named in Sheffield murder inquiry.

A 26-year-old man who died following a fight in Sheffield city centre named as Xiangyu Li.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Union Street and Charles Street at around 3.30am on Tuesday (24 March) after Mr Li was found unconscious
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Frankfurt, Germany on Wednesday (25 March) under a European arrest warrant.

Police secure the scene in union street Sheffield where the body of a man in his 20s was found in the early hours of Tuesday morning (24th March 2020). Police have identified man and officers are now trying to trace the man’s family. The young mans death is currently being treated as “unexplained” and the area has been cordoned off.

“First Signs of Coronavirus Covid-19” – A series of signs directly related to the Coronavirus pandemic

At the epicentre of the Covid-19 pandemic and essentially in the middle of what is currently the world’s biggest news story and on the first day of increased protective measures which have closed pubs, bars, cafes, theatres, cinemas, gyms and much more,I was trying to think of a different way of recording what’s happening all around us. It struck me that the notices displayed by various businesses are not all the same. Many may carry the similar messages but they are all different. Here is a short collection of them which I have called the first Signs of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

After a commissioned photography shoot in Derby on the 7th of November I just had enough time to document the flooding close to home before the last of the light went. These images are of flooding on Mill road and the Junction of Whitley Lane and Church Street


Morning of Friday the 8th of November Ickles roundabout  in Rotherham South Yorkshire.  Stranded and partially submerged vehicles on the A6178 Sheffield road close to the Riverside Pub and Centenary way.  Specialist rescue teams from the West Midlands Fire Service rescue people from vehicles and business premises along the A6178 Sheffield Road heading towards the Magna Centre and Meadowhall

Brian Deane went down in footballing history 25 years ago.  On August 15, 1992 he scored the first goal in the FA Premier League.  A header for Sheffield United against Manchester United guaranteed his place in history, it was the New FA Premier League’s first goal. Twenty five years on Brian returns to the exact spot where he made footballing history for Sheffield United and the blades home ground of Bramall Lane talks to the worlds media.

South Yorkshire Police Officers guard the perimeter of 1 Dunn St Daisy Spring Works after an armed police raid on Thursday evening (June 1 2017) which resulted in the arrest of one man in Sheffield. The raid in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield was part of a coordinated operation at addresses in Sheffield and Huddersfield. A statement from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit said the raids were not linked to the recent terror attack in Manchester and officers were were acting upon recently received intelligence.
